Private Yoga
guidelines & Expectations

Thank you for choosing Picaflor Yoga. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and personalized yoga experience in the comfort of your home. These guidelines help ensure that each session is enjoyable, respectful, and conducted with the highest level of professionalism for both you and your instructor.

Health & Communication

Before your first session, please inform your instructor of any medical conditions, injuries, surgeries, chronic pain, physical limitations, or other health concerns that may affect your practice.

If your health changes at any time or you experience a new injury or illness, please notify your instructor before your scheduled session, so appropriate modifications can be made.

Yoga is intended to support overall wellness and is not a substitute for medical care. If you have concerns about participating in physical activity, please consult with your healthcare provider before your session.

Required Forms

Before your first session, all participants (or a parent/legal guardian for minors) must complete and sign the required forms, including:

  • Client Health & Intake Form

  • Informed Consent & Liability Waiver

  • Parent/Guardian Consent (for participants under 18 years of age)

Sessions cannot begin until all required forms have been completed and received.

Preparing Your Practice Space

Please provide a clean, safe, and comfortable area for your yoga practice.

The space should:

  • Allow enough room for each participant to move comfortably around their yoga mat.

  • Be free of clutter, furniture, cords, toys, or other tripping hazards.

  • Offer a calm environment with minimal distractions whenever possible.

  • Provide reasonable privacy, whether indoors or outdoors.

  • Have comfortable lighting and ventilation.

If practicing outdoors, please ensure the area is level, clean, and weather-appropriate.

Household Members
& Pets

Please notify your instructor before your appointment if anyone else will be present during the session, including:

  • Family members

  • Children

  • House guests

  • Contractors or service workers

  • Pets

To help create a focused and safe environment, pets should be secured if they are likely to interrupt the session or create a safety concern.

One-on-One & Small
Group Sessions

Private sessions may include one participant or a small group of up to three participants.

For small group sessions:

  • Each participant must complete and sign the required forms before participating.

  • Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early and be ready to begin at the scheduled start time.

  • Every participant is responsible for practicing within their own physical abilities and communicating any concerns to the instructor.

Family & Children's Yoga

Family yoga is designed to create a fun, engaging, and inclusive experience for participants of all ages.

For children's or family sessions:

  • A parent or legal guardian must remain present in the home for the entire session.

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children before and after class and assisting when appropriate during the session.

  • Please notify the instructor of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, developmental considerations, sensory sensitivities, or behavioral needs that may help create a safe and supportive experience.

  • Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace. Yoga is intended to be enjoyable, and breaks are always welcome.

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Practice within their own comfort level.

  • Listen to their body and rest whenever needed.

  • Communicate openly about discomfort, pain, dizziness, or concerns during class.

  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.

  • Stay hydrated before and after each session.

  • Treat the instructor with courtesy and respect throughout each visit.

Instructor Responsibilities

Your instructor will:

  • Provide a personalized yoga practice appropriate for your experience level, goals, and abilities.

  • Ask for consent before any on-hand adjustments or assists.

  • Offer modifications and accessible variations throughout the session.

  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming, and judgment-free environment.

  • Arrive prepared with any agreed-upon yoga props or equipment.

Scheduling & Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to the full session fee, except in cases of illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances.

If your instructor must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unsafe travel conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule your session promptly.

Illness Policy

To help protect everyone's health, please reschedule your appointment if you or anyone in the household is experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or significant respiratory symptoms.

Your instructor will extend the same courtesy if they are feeling unwell.

Home Environment & Safety

For the safety and professionalism of each visit:

  • The home should provide a safe and respectful environment for instruction.

  • Please disclose any potential hazards before the instructor arrives.

  • The instructor reserves the right to modify, pause, or end a session if the environment is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

Respect & Professionalism

Picaflor Yoga is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive space for every client. Mutual respect, open communication, and professional conduct are expected throughout each session.

Together, we can create an experience that supports movement, mindfulness, connection, and well-being for individuals, families, and small groups alike.

Thank you for welcoming Picaflor Yoga into your home. I look forward to practicing with you.
